As part of the exhibition “FADE IN /FADE OUT” which illuminates an aspect of West German film history that is largely unknown.
The video installation Opposing/ Voices is placed in the first room as Entrance/Exit of the exhibition. It presents ten contemporary artists.
They form a chorus of voices that talks of recent and past experiences in the German film industry in terms of their Jewish identity. The question of visibility, but also of (foreign) attribution of Jewish identity is the theme. The exhibition is about Jewish filmmakers, sometimes on the margins, sometimes at the center of film production in the Federal Republic.

The Chosen Ones is a colourful portrait of a new generation of Jewish Musicians in NYC. In this Essay Film questions about heritage, faith and music as an open source for communication are raised. Some of them struggle to align their faith with their musical ambitions others find inspirations in their traditions. A portrait of a city and its diversity which provides a home for dreamers.
